In preparation for the May 5, 2007 SAT, Northern Valley will once again begin our SAT classes. Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning February 27, 2007. Each class will hold a maximum of fifteen students. On Tuesdays one group will meet with a math teacher while another group meets with the verbal preparation teacher. On Thursdays they will reverse classes.

The classes are offered only in the Old Tappan building. All classes will begin promptly at 6:30 and end at 8:30 p.m. Registration is limited to Northern Valley students from either NVOT or NVD. Juniors get first preference – no exceptions.
The fee for this course is $400.00. Each student will be given a personal copy of the College Board SAT Preparation book to use during class and keep for home use.

Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will be infused into the same week that class had been canceled. There are no make-up classes for students who cannot attend, regardless of the reason.

Registration will begin on January 10th in the Guidance Office at either the Old Tappan or Demarest building from 3:00 to 3:30 PM. Students should bring the completed application form (Page 2) and a check for $400 made out to NVRHS. Students must register in person with a valid Northern Valley student identification. We cannot accept mail in registration. Should the classes fill up quickly we will develop a wait list until we can hire staff to support it.

We hope our program will help our students by giving them the opportunity to develop more confidence before taking the SAT’s and ultimately benefit improving their test scores. On-line forms will be available shortly.
