Seniors: Required- Out Stealing Horses by Per Petterson and choose one of the following: Black Boy by Richard Wright or Talk, Talk by T. C. Boyle.
Senior Advanced Placement: Required- Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Required edition: Modern Library Classics edition with introduction by Anna Quindlen, The Hours by Michael Cunningham, and Catch-22 by Joseph Heller.
Juniors: Required- Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and choose one of the following: The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde or A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess.
Scholastic Juniors: Marley and Me by John Grogan.
Junior Honors: Great Expectations by Charles Dickens and Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.
Sophomores: Required- The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold and Optional- Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote or All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy.
Scholastic Sophomores: Jack by A. M. Homes.
Sophomore Honors: This year, we ask all sophomores in honors classes to read One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey and view the film. In addition, read all of the following short stories the links to which appear on Mrs. Dee’s web site:
